    The Opportunity

    As the company continues to grow, we are seeking a Laboratory Specialist, to be responsible for providing technical and sales support to customers for Ortho Clinical Diagnostics products within the West Texas Territory. This support is primarily through System Verification of new equipment, customer training, adding new assays, and customer support/troubleshooting of Ortho products within their Area/Region, and Nationally per demand.

     

    This is a remote position that offers a Company car, gas card, laptop, cell phone, and all vehicle maintenance will be covered by Ortho.

    The Responsibilities

    • 60%:
      • Assists customers with automation validation activities. Trains customers on ID-MTS technology and all of the automation that supports it. Additionally, interacts, monitors, communicates, follows-up and establishes and maintains rapport with customers. Supports customers going Test of Record on all products related to the IDMTS Gel Technology Ortho Clinical product line.
      • Responsible for ensuring that Ortho Vitros System Verification studies and training for new Vitros equipment (350, Eci, 4600, 3600, and 5600) are completed. Upon completion of the OCD crossover, data is presented to the customer and the new system leading to TOR (Test of Record) in a timely manner.
    • 30%:
      • Assists customers with menu review and menu addition, both during validation and following test of record on automated analyzers and using Ortho’s Vitros and ID-MTS technology to build and expand reagent revenue. Also supports sales activities to drive the business and meet company goals.
    • 10%:
      • Participates in the formal complaint handling process, troubleshooting, and re-training as deemed necessary, related to Ortho Vitros technology and its automation. Working with internal resources and the customer ensuring that technical issues are resolved in a timely and complete manner. This includes reporting complaints received from the customer to the appropriate Customer Support Center, providing all the required data and activities complying with Ortho complaint handling procedures. 

    The Individual

    • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required.
    • MT, MLT or CLS degree is required.
    • Clinical Laboratory Science or equivalent Life Science experience is required.
    • Minimum of 4 years of experience in hospital laboratory clinical chemistry and/or blood bank experience preferred. This position is cross-trained in both areas.
    • Experience in training or instructing adults, manufacturing laboratory reagents, quality assurance of reagents, technical phone and/or field support is preferred.
    • Solid laboratory market knowledge for the purpose of understanding market forces impacting the business is required. Advanced knowledge of customer blood banking and clinical chemistry processes is preferred.
    • Ability to travel 50-75% domestically, depending upon workflow, is required.

      • Must have a valid US driver's license in good standing.
      • Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
