    The Opportunity

    As the company continues to grow, we are seeking a Financial Analyst - Inventory to be based in Rochester, NY. The Financial Analyst will support the Global Supply Chain & US/UK Operations teams. This position will offer the opportunity to engage with business partners across the organization to manage respective inventory targets, stock composition, and inventory Days of Supply Targets. Support operational leadership with accurate forecasts, value-added reporting, key business metrics and benchmarks tailored to unique needs of the business.

     

     

    The Responsibilities

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Month-end close responsibilities (journal entries, system reconciliation (SAP), balance sheet reconciliations), expense management, budgetary support for cost centers, strategic data and ad hoc analysis
    • Reporting of actual results and analysis vs. plan 
    • Management of financial process improvements as well as ensuring compliance with Ortho Policies & Procedures and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
    • The Financial Analyst will partner with leadership across various functional areas in the communication of monthly inventory results
    • Support of various internal and external financial and system audits; support of internal operations planning cycles


    Major Duties & Responsibilities

    • 30% Support month-end close activities to ensure appropriate accounting under US GAAP including Journal Entries, reconciliations, corporate submissions and variance analysis.
    • 30% Consolidate global inventory results using multiple systems and lead monthly variance analysis to forecast; Support Corporate Quarterly global inventory analysis and commentary
    • 20% Partner with Global Planning on Inventory Projects, S&OP Process, Periodic Forecast Updates and Advanced Data Analytics
    • 10% Support Plant Financial Analysts and Controllers in monthly cycles, System Tasks, Reconciliations and other inventory related topics 
    • 10% Inventory Ad Hoc projects as assigned
    • Perform other work related duties as assigned.

    The Individual

    • A bachelor’s degree is required, preferably within the area of Accounting or Finance. 
    • A minimum of 2 years of accounting or finance experience is required.
    • A CPA, CMA, or other financial certification is preferred. 
    • Candidate must possess intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills required (i.e. Pivot Tables, Formulas, VLOOKUP functions). Experience with SAP is preferred.
    • This role requires an understanding of US GAAP and cost accounting principles.
    • The candidate must possess the ability to partner with associates at all levels of the organization. 
    • Strong communication, presentation, interpersonal, and influencing skills are required.
    • This position requires a highly motivated individual with strong analytical skills, intellectual curiosity and leadership skills.
    • The ability to work well in a dynamic environment, think creatively and be able to recommend and implement process improvements, work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously is required.
